    • S=Turn Standards into meaningful lessons; Determine background knowledge; adjust lesson plans pg 110 - 113
    • H=Inventory students and staff on their level of Hope pg 114 – 117
    • A=Arts, athletics, advanced placement improve achievement pg 117 – 127
    • R=Retooling the operating system: consistent, coherent, sustained support in skill building using CHAMPS pg 128 - 133
    • E=Engaging activities – note chart pg 135 and what engages students; let them take charge of their learning pg 133 – 142

    The main idea here is thinking outside the box not just teaching to a test but analyze the data, make their school time meaningful and work to inspire and instill hope.
